Hoofcare Specialties LLC was formed to serve the needs of our equine friends and work partners.Our goal is to help horse owners learn about keeping their horses sound, and to offer farrier services and clinics with that goal in mind.  Your horse's welfare is our number one concern. 

We offer therapeutic and performance farrier services around Southern Colorado, and anywhere in the United States on request.

Patty Stiller CNBF, CLS is a farrier with over 28 years full time experience in the field.

She is a Natural Balance Certified Lameness Specialist farrier and barefoot trimmer.
Natural Balance was developed by farrier/ researcher Gene Ovnicek and has continued to develop and refine over the years,building with ongoing hoofcare research from around the world.
  
Patty has extensive experience shoeing and treating many hoof pathologies including navicular syndrome, laminitis, ringbone and severe hoof wounds .
She has worked with numerous veterinarians  in California and Colorado, including at the the University of California Davis Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital .
  
Patty was the Farrier Science instructor at Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, CO. for three years from 2006 through 2008.
She is now teaching one week long horse owner hoof trimming classes as well as teaching full time farrier instruction through the non profit Equine Lameness Prevention Organization. For information about the ELPO see

Patty also offers hands on one week  hoof trimming classes here in Colorado .   These in-depth classes will give horse owners a solid start into  the science of hoof trimming. They cover anatomy and function of a horses lower leg and hoof, teach proper hoof form and how to recognize and achieve it . Participants will do a basic simple hoof trim on live horses using the Natural Balance method.
